The most important services offered by Dr's Dennis and Angela are the accurate diagnosis of present or potential dental problems, the education of the patient regarding the problems and the planning to eliminate the problems.  To improve our ability to visualize dental issues, we use  3.5 power magnifying glasses, a treatment microscope, digital photos, an intra-oral dental scope and diagnostic models.  One of the best diagnostic tools is the dental x-ray and our technicians use high speed machines and film to reduce unnecessary exsposure to radiation.

     To further reduce exsposure and enhance diagnostic capabilities, we have invested in panoramic x-ray equipment and computerized digital radiography (CDR).  CDR is exciting in that it reduces x-ray exposure by 90 percent and allows unprecedented abilities in radiographic diagnosis.  Improved daignostic technology is a tremendous benfit to patients. 

Pain and Anxiety Control:

     One of the hurdles to receiving dental care in a timely fashion is the fear of the unknown and/or the fear of the possibility of pain.  To help alleviate these fears, we educate our patients about the procedure, the availability of anesthesia and carry out procedures in a relaxed, comfortable environment.

     To further help alleviate anxiety with regards to dental treatment, nitrous oxide sedation is available.  Also  I.O. glasses can be used which allows the patient to view a movie while undergoing a procedure or CD headphones can be used to tune out the dental sounds.  As a last resort, pharmaceutical anti-anxiety medication is available to those patients with higher leveles of anxiety.

 

 

     One of the most rapidly changing areas of dentistry is cosmetic dentistry.  Through the use of beaching, reshaping, restoring or repositioning teeth, nearly all cosmetic concerns can be addressed.  Dr. Santini takes pride in keeping abreast of the latest techniques to help his patients enjoy healthy, functional and beautiful teeth.

     The prevention of tooth decay and gum disease is one of the most basic responsiblities of Dr. Santini's practice.  To be listed under "Special Services" is perhaps not accurately descriptive; however, Dr. Santini takes prevention to a higher level, and offers guidance on nutrition in order to help his patients prevent disease and maintain optimal health.

     To accurately monitor the status of your periodontal health, Dr. Santini has invested in the Florida Probe.  It is a computer assisted measurment and analysis of the condition of your gum tissues and supporting bone for your teeth.  This instrument gives us unprecedented diagnostic capabilities in monitoring your periodontal health.

 

 

     Endodontics, or root canal therapy, is one of the most feared and misunderstood areas of dentistry.  Dr. Santini has studied with some of the world's best dentists to refine his endodontic technique in order to provde his patients with state-of-the-art root canal procedures.  Dr. Santini's patients rarely report any undo discomfort when receiving root canal treatment.  Dr. Santini takes great pride in providing exceptional care in this area.

     There is great news for patients (and for their spouses) who suffer from snoring.  Through the use of an appliance called "The Silencer", the jower jaw is pulled forward, keeping the tongue off the back of the snorer's throat.  This adjustment to the airway improves the oxygenation of the patient's body which helps him or her sleep better -  and without the noise!

 

 

     One special service we offer to our patients is the in home Tooth Whitening System.  This system is better than the store bought ones due to the fact that the shims we make are made directly from an impression of your teeth, so they will fit you perfectly.

     To get bleaching shims, first you must come in for the impresssions.  Then we make modesl from the impressions.  From the models we make the custom bleaching shims.  This process, from start to finish, takes about one week.
